COVID and Safety Precautions

The 2022 SAVMA Pedal for Pets Bike-a-Thon is a unique opportunity to take a break from your daily routine and experience something new. COVID SAFETY

Please reference Cornell University's Events COVID-19 Response page for information regarding COVID-19 safety measures. We will update participants with any changes as necessary - masking and social distancing are encouraged!

 

HELMET REQUIREMENT

For everyone's safety, we request that all cyclists wear a helmet for the duration of their ride. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!

 

BIKE SAFETY & RULES OF THE ROAD

Please follow these recommendations to ensure your safety:)

  • wear bright colors so you are easily seen

  • bike with traffic: all riders ride in the right lane as if you were driving a car

  • use proper hand signals to indicate you are turning- see thee provided image below

  • stay in the road's shoulder if possible, or as close to the shoulder as you can to provide adequate room for passing cars

  • we strongly discourage the use of headphones or earbuds during the ride to ensure you can hear traffic or any other communication

  • we do encourage you bring your cellphone with you in case of emergency or bike malfunction

  • stay safe and have fun!:) we look forward to having you at the event:)
